MUSEUM'S SUMMER OPENING HOURS

The Euskotren Basque Railway Museum’s summer opening hours  will be as follows:

• Tuesday to Saturday: from 10.30 a.m. to 2.00 p.m. and from 4.00 to 7.30 p.m.

The Basque Railway Museum boasts one of the best railway collections in Europe featuring a whole range of vehicles: electric, diesel and steam locomotives, railcars and different types of wagons. It also has one of the Basque Country’s most comprehensive sets of machine tools from the former Urola railway repair shop. There is also a display of railway uniforms from the end of the 19th century and one of the best railway clock collections in the world.

STOKER FOR A DAY

The Museum is yet again holding its "Stoker for a Day" initiative among its activities. It consists of a return journey on the steam train's footplate to learn about all the preparations needed to get the locomotive underway. Participants will receive the necessary training and equipment to guarantee their safety at all times.  Anybody interested in taking part in this exclusive experience, which costs €50, should book by sending an email to museoa@euskotren.eus, at least 72 hours before the day chosen.
