Euskotren to put on extra services on the tramway and Line 3 of the Metro underground in Bilbao for the Athletic – Sporting Portugal match
On Wednesday 28 January, Euskotren will put on extra services on the tramway and Line 3 of the Metro underground in Bilbao for the Athletic – Sporting Portugal match, which will be played at San Mamés at 9.00 p.m.
BILBAO TRAMWAY
Euskotren will run extra services on the Bilbao tramway. The service between La Casilla and Euskalduna will be partially disrupted before and after the match to guarantee safety in the vicinity of the San Mamés stadium.
The service will stop between 8.00 p.m and 9.05 p.m. before the match. It will then not run between La Casilla and Euskalduna from 10.40 p.m. to 11.20 p.m. after the match. These disruptions are part of the Municipal Emergency Plan coordinated by Bilbao City Council.
Euskotren recommends going to the Euskalduna tram stop for the return journey to prevent crowds forming at the stops close to San Mamés. Barik travel cards should also be used to pay the fare to expedite people getting on the tram.
L3 UNDERGROUND LINE
The regular weekday timetable for L3 of the Metro underground (Matiko/Bilbao - Kukullaga/Etxebarri) will be extended for people to travel back after the match; this will bolster the Metro Bilbao service on Lines 1 and 2, thanks to the connections at the Zazpikaleak/Casco Viejo station.
Passengers can obtain further information by phoning the information line on 944 333 333, www.euskotren.eus website and the Euskotren official APP.
