General BAT Card
- Number of trips: A combined card; one trip for each validation on the pre-paid card (€5-90). Once it has been topped-up, the amount cannot be refunded under any circumstances as the balance in the wallet becomes a fully functioning transport ticket for use on the operators that belong to the BAT System. Equally, any remnant of the balance cannot be transformed into time-limited tickets or vice versa. A single ticket can be validated several times if all the people travelling on it take the same route.
- Validation: Validation is obligatory before each trip and the current fare will be discounted from the card. It can be used to travel by tram and suburban bus, on a single operator or combining operators. In this case, changing between various Tram-Bus modes entitles the user to a 45% bonus on the sum of the cost of the trips of each operator. This amount will be discounted from the second part of the trip, allowing a maximum of 50 minutes between the first and second validation.
- Personal/multi-person: Multiperson and transferable.
- Expiry date: The card expires after 7 years; the existing balance never expires.
